The purpose for written rules, regulations, policies, and procedures is to make Guests aware of what is expected of them and what they can expect from course management.
These rules, regulations, policies, and procedures have been written to establish a framework of conduct and a foundation for answering questions or resolving disputes. Without exception, these written policies take precedence over other written or oral rules, regulations, policies, procedures, instructions, or request and are endorsed by course management.
Any person entering The Grizzly Golf and Social Lodge premises at 6042 Fairway Drive, Mason, OH including the course grounds, driving range, club house, parking lots, maintenance facility, etc. are considered Guests and are subject to these rules, regulations, policies, and procedures governing the premises.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
- Alcohol consumed on premises must be purchased on premises.
- Personal coolers are prohibited.
- Anyone carrying alcohol onto the premises will be required to leave without refund.
TEE TIMES
- “Weekday” is Monday – Thursday.
- “Weekend” is Friday – Sunday and Holidays.
- “Regular Rate” is defined as the non-discounted rate. Senior age is 55+, Junior age is 18.
- A valid credit card on file is required to hold your tee time reservation.
- All golfers (including members/privilege holders) must register in the Pro Shop before beginning play and sign for a cart in the cart barn.
- Public tee time reservations may be made 10 days in advance by phone, online, or in the Pro Shop.
- Golfers should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the tee time reservation.
- For evening play, golfers must call the Pro Shop if wanting to start on any hole other than #1.
CANCELLATION AND NO-SHOWS
- Cancellation must occur 24 hours in advance of the tee time.
- No-show fee is the rate for the tee time. It will be charged for any booked and unused/uncancelled tee time.
- Patrons with a past “no-show” on their account must pay in advance when making future tee time.
GOLF RULES OF PLAY
- Each golfer must have a receipt from the cashier.
- Each golfer must have a bag and clubs.
- Holes must be played in sequence.
- USGA Rules govern all play.
- Ball crossing road on holes 8 & 9 is out of bounds.
- Ball striking high tension wires must be replayed, no penalty.
- Fivesomes or more are not permitted on the golf course at any time.
- Players should not hit until the players in front are out of range.
- The Pro Shop will group singles and twosomes into foursomes whenever possible.
PACE OF PLAY
- The course is a “Ready-Golf” facility, expected maximum pace of play is 4 hours and 30 minutes, or 15 minutes per hole. Please keep pace.
- A group maybe be asked to close the gap or skip a hole in the event it falls behind pace of play.
- If a group fails to close the gap within two or more holes behind the group in front, they will be asked to skip a hole or move to the appropriate place on the golf course.
- If a group continues to remain off pace, they will be asked to cease play and return to the club house to receive a rain check for the portion of the round they did not complete.
GOLF COURSE CARE/MAINTENANCE
- Replace divots, repair ball marks and rake sand traps.
- Use the sand and seed mixture on the golf cart to fill divots in the fairways and tees.
- Always keep carts at least thirty (30) feet from all tees and greens.
- Ensure no damage is done to the putting green when setting down bags or the flagstick.
- If the Superintendent declares the course “unplayable” because of frost, heavy rains or other severe conditions, no player may begin or resume a round until the course is declared to be playable.
- The Superintendent will communicate cart rule of the day to Pro Shop. Under wet or soft conditions, golf carts may be required to remain on the path for duration of play.
SEVERE WEATHER POLICY / RAINCHECKS
- We have a severe Weather Warning System which alerts automatically
- One long tone signals severe weather in the area, guest should take cover
- Two short tones indicate weather threat has passed
- During severe weather (lightning or thunder) players are not permitted to start.
- If inclement weather causes players to cancel the round, players are eligible for a refund if they have not started.
- Once players have started, they are eligible for a rain check only.
- Rain checks will be issued on a prorated basis.
GOLF CARTS / PULL CARTS
- Golf carts must be paid for in the Pro Shop or via mobile check-in.
- Golfers must present a receipt for golf cart at the cart barn.
- Carts are assigned by the Cart Barn at time of registration.
- Anyone driving a cart must be a licensed driver and 18 years of age who has signed the cart liability acknowledgement form. Proper I.D. must be show upon request.
- Obey all traffic and directional signs.
- Cart path only for all par 3s.
- Hand carts must be kept off greens, collars and tees.
- Keep carts at least 30 feet from the greens at all times, unless golfer has a disability flag.
- Carts must be returned to the cart barn by dusk.
- Golf carts are restricted for use on the golf course and practice areas only and shall not be removed from the grounds at any time without permission from the General Manager.
- Only golf carts owned by The Grizzly are permitted for use on the course, privately owned golf carts are not permitted.
- Golf carts are operated at the risk of the operator. Cart drivers are liable for any damage or bodily harm caused by the cart, and to the cart. The cost of repairing any damage to the golf carts or the golf course will be charged to the individual playing at the time the damage occurs.
- Violation of these golf cart rules may result in immediate suspension of playing privileges and ejection from the golf course.
DRESS CODE
- Shirts must be worn at all times. Sleeves and collars are recommended on men’s shirts; ladies may wear a sleeveless, collared golf shirt. Tank tops, tube tops, halter tops, mesh shirts or similar attire are not permitted.
- Slacks, skirts, skorts, or mid-length shorts (minimum length 16 inches) must be worn at all times. (swimming attire, short-shorts, cutoffs, jogging suits, sweat pants and similar attire are not permitted.)
- Proper footwear must be worn at all times. (Metal spikes, high heels, sharp heels, lug shoes, knobby rubber spikes or shoes deemed harmful to the golf course are not permitted.)
CART PATHS / PARKING / TRAFFIC
- Overnight parking is not permitted.
- Vehicles in unauthorized areas may be towed at owner’s expense.
- Bicycles, motorbikes, all-terrain vehicles, etc., including roller blades, scooters, skateboards, etc., are not permitted on the golf course, cart paths, or driving range at any time.
- Golfers may drive carts across designated crosswalks to continue play on adjoining holes.
- Neighbors should refrain from using cart paths from daylight to dark. Running, walking and bicycling are permitted on cart paths only when the course is closed and is at the person’s own risk.
SAFETY
- All Guests are responsible for their own safety.
- Guests who are intoxicated by drugs or alcohol, including prescription drugs, must discontinue play and may not operate golf carts.
- Golfers should ensure that no one is standing in a position to be hit by the club, the ball, or any debris when they make a stroke or practice swing.
- Golfers should not play until the players in front are out of range.
- Guests should always alert maintenance personnel nearby or ahead when they are about to make a stroke that might endanger them.
- If a Guest plays a ball in a direction where there is a danger of hitting someone, they are required to immediately shout “fore” a warning.
ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES
- All accidents or incidents involving guest must be immediately reported to the Pro Shop.
- An incident report will be drafted to document any accident or liability issue.
- Reports will be provided to the City of Mason within 24 hours.
NEIGHBORING HOMES / OUT OF BOUNDS
- Golf Course property includes the golf course, clubhouse, driving range, parking lots, and all surrounding property marked by out of bounds stakes.
- Golfers should be aware of out of bound markers.
- If a ball is hit into a neighbor’s yard, it is considered out of bounds, and you should play another ball.
DAMAGES / VIOLATIONS
- Guests are solely responsible for damage to course buildings, equipment, and neighboring properties; including damages incurred by errant balls, golf carts, golf clubs and other golf equipment. If a golfer damages a house or other personal property, is it proper to leave a note or so you can recompense the owners.
- Golfers/Guests are required to immediately report damages and injuries to personnel in the Pro Shop.
- Violations of State of Ohio Law, City of Mason ordinances, Golf Course rules and regulations, rudeness, assault, or unacceptable behavior towards the golf staff or other Guests may result in immediate revocation of golf privileges, expulsion from the course.
- Violation details are recorded by course management and serious incidents are reported to City of Mason officials and provided to Mason Police Department.
